Something about Madrid

is Magical.

Madrid Story

Madrid, hmm… is airy, but “heavy” at the same time. I don’t mean it as a bad thing. Heavy as in: vivid art, cobblestoned old town, taxi rides with the city flying by, and walking out of a neighborhood and meeting the walls of El Retiro Park.

We visited a Japanese yakiniku restaurant based on a friend’s recommendation. Good reviews on Google Maps, but the meal was not particularly memorable, except for the sweet melon at the end that was apparently a rarity (it came with a certificate of authenticity). I don’t remember how it tasted per se, but I do remember the walk we took before dinner. The neighborhood that the restaurant was in was very calming.

I looked up the digital nomad visa five days after I landed in Spain. I was in Valencia, having just visited Barcelona, but then when I got to Madrid, this idea felt even more compelling.

Well it doesn’t hurt to daydream from time to time, especially when one is in a flow.
